Retreat weekends are held in the
Fall, Winter and early Spring at various outdoor education or retreat
centers in New England. Participants engage physically, emotionally
and creatively in adventure-based activities.

What are Adventure-Based Activities?
Activities integrating an unfamiliar adventure setting with an element of physical and emotional challenge require group and individual problem solving. Participants are guided through a process of interpreting these experiences, framing challenges to serve as metaphors for the challenges they face in recovery (Priest and Gass, 1997).
The opportunity to participate in an adventure-based retreat with
other breast cancer survivors provides the tools to develop new
behaviors and coping mechanisms as well as a social network of
support.
Our adventure activities, utilizing certified outdoor educators and instructors,
may include:
 |
Challenge Course
High Ropes
Kayaking
Snowshoeing
Hiking
Drumming
Yoga
Meditation
Reiki
Expressive Arts |
